You have a list of activities. You do not have a story.

Thoughts asks you about one real experience, one question at a time. What happened, what you learnt, what you would do next time. Your own words are kept with the date, and become evidence you can actually defend in four years.

01The arithmetic

40

of you in the debrief

20

minutes, end of a tiring day

600

characters to explain yourself

Whether anything survives the camp, the VIA project or the CCA season depends entirely on whether someone runs a debrief afterwards. A teacher who genuinely wants to sit with each of you cannot. The arithmetic does not allow it.

So you write four lines because it was assigned, nobody reads them closely, and the experience becomes something you attended. Two years later a panel says tell us about yourself and you have a list.

02One question at a time

It follows what you said, not a script.

Ten to fourteen questions, about 15 minutes, in three parts. Thoughts speaks in the interface. You always speak in serif.

01

What happened

What happened?

We were supposed to run the session for the seniors and nobody had checked the projector.

02

What you learnt

You said nobody had checked. Who did you expect to check?

Me. I wrote the plan and I left that line blank because I assumed someone else owned it.

Thoughts builds every question out of your last answer. It does not summarise you and it does not congratulate you.

03

Next time

Write it as one sentence you would actually say out loud.

Next time I will name who owns each line before I call a plan finished.

This is the only thing in a debrief Thoughts will not write for you.

03What it leaves behind

Then the screen goes quiet.

A finished debrief leaves one thing behind: a Moment. The date, what happened in three lines, your own sentences at reading size, and the values they evidenced named underneath.

Thoughts does not write any of it. It is what you said, kept, so the you in front of an interview panel has something to stand on.

14 Aug 2025Kept

Ran the induction session for the seniors at the community centre. The projector had not been checked and the first 20 minutes were lost. Finished off a printed handout instead.

I wrote the plan and I left that line blank because I assumed someone else owned it.

She did not look annoyed, she just waited, and that was worse.

Next time

Next time I will name who owns each line before I call a plan finished.

An example Moment. Nothing here is a real student.
04Four years of these

One is useful. Twelve is a person you can describe.

Moments accumulate into your Story: dated, searchable, in your own voice. When the EAE, DSA or scholarship window opens you do not start from a blank box. You open the thing you have been writing since Sec 1 without noticing.

05What Thoughts will not do

It will not write your reflection.

The one sentence that closes a debrief is the only thing you must write yourself. Thoughts will not put words in it, and it will not accept a blank.

It will not tell you that was mature.

No praise, no well done. When something you did was worth naming, Thoughts reads your own sentence back to you as the proof.

It will not forget you.

Every finished debrief is kept as a Moment with the date and the values it evidenced. After a year it knows your Story better than you do.

It will not pretend to be a counsellor.

If something is bigger than a debrief, Thoughts stops asking and shows you people actually trained for it.

What it is not.

Read this part

Thoughts is not a counsellor and does not pretend to be one. If you are in danger, call the national mindline on 1771 or SOS on 1767.

When you keep your first Moment you name one adult you trust. Thoughts emails that person only if you say something that suggests you are in danger. Nothing else is ever sent to them, and it is stated before you type a word.

No name, no school, no age, no password. Two email addresses, asked once, after a debrief has already been worth something.

The first question

What happened?

Thoughts is being built now, in Singapore, for Sec, JC and poly. It opens with the first debrief free and no account needed to start. Nothing on this page collects anything about you.

Nothing is sent and nothing is collected. It copies the address to your clipboard.
